Srirangapatna
It is famed as one of the tourist spot that is famous for Ranganathaswamy temple, Gumbaz, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, and Sri Rangapatnam fort. The city was also capital Mysore during the rule of Tipu Sultan. It’s an egg-shaped island surrounded by river Kaveri and legends say that Lord Buddha has visited and stayed in this island.
Belur
Belur is celebrated for temples like Chennakesava Temple of Lord Vishnu and Kappe Chennigraya, which are well renowned for architecture and carvings like Darpana Sundari (beautiful lady with a mirror) that are of historical importance.
Aihole
This village was once the capital city of Chalukya dynasty; Aihole houses about hundred temples and is known as the cradle of Indian temple architecture. It is a popular tourist spot in Karnataka with group of temples like the Kontigudi group, the Galaganatha group of temples, Lad Khan Temple, Ravanaphadi Temple Durga Temple, and Suryanarayana Temple Huchappayyagudi Temple, and many others.
Chikmagalur
This town is a picturesque destination with lofty peaks, racing rivers, sparkling streams and waterfalls. This place is perfect retreat for everyone like adventure seekers, pilgrims, and research enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy the serene and scenic waterfalls of Kalhatagiri, Hebbe, Sirimane, Manikyadhara, and Shanti. This place is also famous for Muthodi and Bhadra forests that are popular among tourists. Some of the prominent pilgrim destinations are Horanadu, Balehonnur, Kalasa, and Sringeri.
